I've always been curious about alessandro.

Cannot comment on Alessandro, but I will say that Alejandro (Escovedo) sounds outstanding on Grados!

They're a bigger diameter driver G-pad headphone. They do sound like Grados but also different. I mean they're nice but not exciting. They have a warm sound like an old radio. Voices and mids in general are rendered beautifully. Upper bass is thick but lower bass is not. Lower treble is there but no real high treble. So we have a bell-curved frequency curve.

GH2s are similar to the PS500e but way more exciting. And PS500e are similar to the White but also way more exciting.

The Whites are my most expensive Grados but i cannot really say they were worth it. When i want this kind of sound i use my GS1000is. The White are just sitting there, looking cool.

If it's voice heavy non complex music within the White's frequency range like classic music or jazz or the Beatles they sound great*** But the RS1 buttons always will sound greater.

Maybe my brain will burn in to the Whites after some years?! :)
*** sound best on the 'White Album'? 😂

The burned in version much more...
It's pretty rare to see anyone do direct comparisons of this nature. Very cool. A lot of the discourse around burn in results in comparisons that are designed to fail I think. How many people have actually gone through this effort? Just something interesting to think about is all. I agree tho, it makes a giant difference. I find that nearly everything the RS1X is criticized for improves, the more they burn in ime. My 325i also have thousands of hours and sound stupidly good, considering the original price.

I'd love it if someone like Marv tested a grado with 500 hours against one new out of the box.

The opportunity arose by chance:

I had put my PS1000 with around 500 operating hours up for sale. Then a prospective buyer came to me and wanted to try out my PS1000. At the same time, he had a brand-new pair in its original packaging from an online retailer, so we were able to compare the two headphones directly.

He then bought my PS1000 and sent the new unit back to the dealer....

The GS3000x along with a new cd-transport arrived. The sound coming from the GS3000x is a nice alternative to the Ps2000e.

That’s a great description, thank you!

The Polish headband is much comfortable. It seems I was using a headband for the much smaller Grado's.

People usually fight over a few things: price, cable, FR curve and amp, and none of them applies to Grado.

You can buy Grado at any price point from $50 to $2k, they sound pretty good out of almost anything (although high current amps recommended) and the cables are fixed so no swapping. No Grado buyer cares about FR because the company tells you their cans are not neutral. The only thing left to discuss are how awesome they sound and what pads to use :gs1000smile:
Honestly yes! When I first started buying Grados, paying $50 for G cups felt like highway robbery. It made me feel like a sucker for such a product (which I am)...
But then I remember some people pay $3-5k for an IEM cable. To each their own, as we all can be delusional and opinionated with audiophile products, but these cans don't struggle with all those arguments.

Very true. There are way worse value in the hobby than $50 for some black foam - I paid $50 for TTVJ foam which has even less materials than the G cups
