The opportunity arose by chance:

I had put my PS1000 with around 500 operating hours up for sale. Then a prospective buyer came to me and wanted to try out my PS1000. At the same time, he had a brand-new pair in its original packaging from an online retailer, so we were able to compare the two headphones directly.

He then bought my PS1000 and sent the new unit back to the dealer....
When was this?

Oh, that must have happened about 10 years ago.

I sold the PS1000 back then because I still like the sound of the GS1000i better. It's also much lighter and was more comfortable for me to wear.

The GS1000i has my Grado sound!

So much so that I was recently able to order a (possibly last) brand new one from the USA as a replacement in case something should happen to my current model and there are no more original replacement drivers available.

In the next two weeks I will probably have a second opportunity to compare a very well used Grado (also at least 500 hours) with the same unused model.
I'm very curious, but I suspect that the result will be the same as the comparison with the two PS1000s.

I will report back.

So that GS1000 for 300 euros somebody already bought it but it's not a problem, as I already have 3 grados :)

Sorry i meant the turbulent headband :)
No need for sorry. For the Ps2000e it's good. It's more comfortable. How could I have not figured it out that I was using the wrong headband 😁
I don't know about the smaller headbands.
