Grado sr 325 X : Where can I find padding for the headband that I find uncomfortable?

You can try double-sided tape and replacement headband pad for the HD650, HD660, HD6XX.

You giving @plakat a 'like' on his reply to my post above worries me that you don't know which wires are which for the L & R channels. Before you do any soldering--do you know which are which? I know 100% being I've terminated every single Grado I own--or have owned to Neutrik 4-Pin XLR--with the exception of my 325is.
That is correct. I always use my Grado schema whenever I need to solder a Grado hp!

Some more info here (but it's about the Ps2000e 12 conductor cable): I
changed the cable on mine from 1/4 to 4pin XLR. I remember a few tips for you.
1: all Grados have 4, 8 or 12 wires running all the way between driver and connector.
2: all Grado wires are colour coded, there are 3 colours.
3: the easy way to determine left and right wires is to use an ohm meter, listening for a scratching sound to emit form the driver when rubbing the contact. Do it 1 wire at a time.
4: all Grados use blue wires for - on both sides, white for + on right side, red for + on left side.
5: the jack tip is the L+, the ring is R+ and the base is L and R -.

Pin 1 3 reds(L+), pin 2 left 2 blues(L-), pin 3 whites(R+) and pin 4 2 blues(R-). You just need to figure out which blue wires is for the left and right.

But wi don't think it matters that much for the blue wires left or right.

@alexdemaet
I see you're from Belgium--I very recently purchased my NOS BNIB PS1000 from Technology Factory which is an online store located in Antwerp, BE. Great communication with very fast shipping to the US>
I have never heard of that company. I will search them on Google thanks !

Yes--it does matter.
As I mentioned in the above post, you need to find ~32Ohms resistance between the + & -.
2 specific blue wires (32Ohms) out of the 4 go to the R channel and the other 2 blue wires (32Ohms) go to the L channel.

Yea I got the color code directly from Grado and had a professional do it. Actually it was several months ago :wink:

My comment can be misleading though.
Red==Left in Grado world!!
Interesting… I don’t plan to reterminate any one of my Grados, but still good to know where to start.
As @joseph69 mentioned one needs to check which blue wire belongs where anyway, which would reveal that association Red==Left as well

To Gradostax:

I don’t know if you found this the case but the RS1x was similar to my PS2000e in that they took quite a bit of playtime (burn in) to reach their full potential. Up until then I was not thrilled with its balance. I’m talking over 200 hours, close to 300. Other Head Fi Buddies have experienced the same results. Just play and enjoy (NO TEST TONES PLEASE).

All part of the FUN.
Never heard the ps2000e before so i can't comment . RS1X is a great headphone to me ,especially for its mid range! it just feels more forward sounding than RS2X
