hi, i am contemplating about the th600.
 
so far the hd600 is my favourite, coherence, body, prat, balance and tonality is really good. looking for a little more bass, overall speed, definition and life.
 
didnt like:
DENON models 2000,5000,7000 - sounded kind of artificial to me, didnt like the recessed mids
 
hd800 - too little bass quantity, body, and treble tonality
 
beyerdynamic tesla series - dont like their tonality at all, dont like their highs (t5p was the best of all beyers - but it had more flaws than the near perfect hd600)
 
dont like ultrasones - missing coherence and tonality.
 
 
i like acoustic instruments - especially drums, bass and piano - soul funk jazz. i listen at low to medium volumes (70 to 80db)

If you are subjective enough to mention PRAT you will likely never know until you compare them side by side to find for yourself which you enjoy more.
I can tell you the TH600 will have more bass and that the HD600 may sound darker by looking at the frequency responses.

PRAT = punch, rhythm and timing... I am not sure how this would be good microdynamics?

It would be but TH600 has a way better soundstage than HD600 by a very large margin. TH600 is so much better than HD 600 it's like being in  Ferrari vs riding a bike. It's 2 levels above the HD 600.

Its pace, rhythm and timing. How do you like your grados? Personally don't like closed cans unless your environment really calls for them. I'd also consider amplification, the hd600's will scale fairly well. Though I personally cpuldnt get into them, just didn't get my toes tapping.

But a bike has a max speed of about 35mph when going down a hill and a ferrari can do like 200mph on the flat, so that is 5.75x better than a bike. I think you could have come up with a better analogy there, maybe a Audi R8 vs a Pagani Zonda?

You should also consider the HE-500, as it meets all of your criteria. TH600 is also very good; mids are clean but not as full-bodied, a bit more energy in the treble. The bass on both of these headphones is far, far better than the HD600s. At low volumes the HE-500s has more engaging vocals & presence, but the TH600 sounds a bit more lively & dynamic.
