Hey guys, looking to find an amp which will pair with hd800. Considering the 2 amps which would be better for metal music. I do not like the wooaudio amps, have tried only the vali and loved it. But want something slightly better over it. Also considering cayin ha-1a/2/3.
 
Will be outputting from my xonar essence stx, will try tube rolling but not enthusiastically.

My vote goes to Valhalla 2.

Valhalla 2 for much more voltage swing which suits all those high Z Sennheisers and Beyers, thus driving them better. Lyr 2 more for lower impedance high current headphones aka planars

Not sure about the HD 800, I use the HD 700 with the Lyr 2 and this fits perfectly, in my mind.
