Headphoneus Supremus
For those who know Vitus Audio you know that we are talking ultra high end (and extremely expensive) amplifiers. I saw the review of the phono preamp on Stereophiles website and went to the Vitus Audio website. In the downloadable brochure I saw that an upcomming product, the RI-100 Integrated Amplifier, will include the following output "1 x balanced HQ headphone".
Now if Vitus Audio is serious about that HQ balanced Headphone output and if it is half as good as Stereophile said the phono preamp is I am looking forward to read more about this amplifier. I am sure it will NOT be an OPAMP or cheap solution just to provide a headphone plug. It is also interresting that headphone outputs have made their way to the ultra high end segment.
