I have been amazed at the lack of opportunities to try different headphones. I wonder if there are local stores where AKG's, Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser's etc are available for listening and comparisons. If such places exist please list them in this thread.

perhaps the head fi community should compile a frappr map that indicates which models are stocked by showroom

Good point. Even if they dont carry the hp's you want, they will special order for you and match the internet price. This is great news to me, since I just bought today the DT 880's there for 235.00 new. Only problem is they wont let you try them.

I know of 4 or 5 places that have headphones along Hi-Fi row in Seattle.

My brother bought a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770s at guitar center. He wanted to try them before he bought them and they thought it was the most absurd thing ever, eventually they let him try them though. Also, does anybody know of a place to test headphones in the westchester, ny or NYC area?

Ive looking for a headphone shop near the prescott arizona area. They have many car stereo places and one home theater store which dont carry headphones.

Roosevelt Way on Capitol Hill around 62nd, 63rd-ish. There are also a few nearby on University Way.
