Hi!
My dad asked me to help him with the decision of what phones he would buy, could you help me?
the budget is 80 euro (he is going to buy them in germany cause he is on a trip there),
he needs the to play in his piano, and to listen to calssic music in his stereo system, and if it is important he has an pro ject head box ii amp for it.
his needs are: good isolation, not a big sound leak, and comfort and good sound quality.

thanks for the help!

Audio Techica A700 which is the closed back ver of the AD700 may work for him. I had the AD700's my self and they did a good job with classical music. Tho I wouldnt know how much the A700 would cost over there.

Yes it will. HD448. No question about it, they're comfy and superb for classical music, plus they isolate better than the PX.

No, they don't leak, they're closed phones and isolate quite well. Sennheiser made them to be portable too, with a bit of isolation in mind. If you can't find the 448, the HD428 are quite similar yet cheaper, but the cable is 3m long, not good for carrying around out and about.

At this price point and matching your requirements, there aren't that many "audiophile" cans. The HD428 is a solid contender, I'd say.

Another vote for 428/448. I have the 428, tried both, they sound very similar to my ears but the 428 is cheaper. I like them with classical music, even if it's not my main listening genre. They have a clean balanced sound and they are comfortable.

K.
