probably my quastion is silly for you but i didn't use sound card before and i need help

i got Realtek alc887 on my msi b450 motherboard before that alc1150.both 24bit/192khz. alc887 95db,alc1150 105db.actually i couldn't notice any difriences but i want improve my sound

My first choise was asus xonar u5-u7 but half of customers unhappy with that(driver problems, asus sport, short periot useable....)so i won't repeat seme mistake (i am one of steelseries gaming mouse victim).just stay away asus

192khz creative sound card models are out of my budget.everyone recomend Creative Omni but it's 24bit/96mhz.is it still improve my sound quality or thats just for only laptop or lower onboard audio? - people who like omni are using laptop or lower onboard audio? Can omni still give me better sound than my realtek alc887?

Second quastion - sound blaster play 3 specs are 24bit/96khz either as omni.just play 3 got lower db.i won't use 5.1 speaker just headset for music and gaming.so play 3 won't be better choice for me? Or is omni got much more quality than play 3 beyond db

Do you really need the features of a sound card (headphone surround sound)?
Otherwise just get a USB DAC/amp.

Onikuma k8 for gaming and
Sennheiser hd 400s and onikuma k8 for gaming.100$-120$
Should be able to find a used Creative Labs G5, for that budget.

i found actually,on creative's own web site.sound blaster x3-120$.looking awsome.i didn't see it before because thats kinda new product and nothing found-nobody talk about x3 on net search "best external sound card 2019" "external sound card succest-review"....etc etc

https://us.creative.com/p/sound-blaster/sound-blaster-x3

i bought play! 3 couple hours ago.x3 not in my country yet and i don't wanna deal go n back cargo to different country in any problem.so my plan is sell play!3 couple months later n buy x3

Thanks for helping.by the way, is sound blaster omni better than realtek alc887? Do u have any idea about that? Or anyone experienced that

On forums some people say "thats better than onboard audio anycase" some people said "motherboard are advenced those days n sound quality hi-end.no need sound card" but i couldnt find details

@metorik,

Dolby Surround support not necessarily going to make your sound quality better, it will only show up if your source media has this encoded & you have it enabled.

I suggest looking into Lexicon Alpha, as an audio interface, it also has a mic in when you need it for your gaming.

Feel free to ask more.

Hope you have a great day !

Lexicon Alpha in my mind.thx

No problem, @metorik, easiest solution is best.
Happy to answer more questions when necessary, used the Lexicon Alpha for nearly 2 decades & still going strong though recently retired it with honours but that's a whole different story & conversation...

Hope you have a great day !
