And is it 16 or 24 bit depth?

Are you sure that both 24 and 32 bit are a problem, or only 32 bit? 32 bit music is extremely rare, I wonder if that is the issue.

Yeah, I'm sure about that.
I has that problem with Ledzepp IV album Vinyl RIP 24/192, and Metallica Ride The Lightning Japanese Edition 32/192.
All in .wav 192khz floating point

And RS2 play normal when I convert these album from WAV 192khz to FLAC 192khz (with foobar2000)

I hope @Joe Bloggs can get this fixed. I think your problem description is helpful :)

I forgot to thank you for your early rep and support ---> so thanks alot, my friend!

Yep, hope that a minor bug and will be fixed with the next firmware*. But for now I have to convert all my wav 192khz** to flac 192khz

* again, RS2 newest 1.1 firmware 3.5mm line out totally ok

** I had these vinyl rip (some albums of Ledzepp, Pinkfloyd, Metallica & Slayer at 192khz PCM floating point) about 5 6 years ago. And play normal with my desktop setup. Havent test PCM 384khz and DSD128/256 with RS2 so dont really know what happen (I mean lagging problem)

But anyway, I'm so happy with my RS2. That little beast is perpect for me.
And I think people who tired with modern multifunction DAP, so tired with analytical listenning, they can smile with this simple-green-skin. Less is more. Just only music. Dont care about anything

Foobar can play anything, that's for sure. I wonder about those vinyl rips though. Maybe there is something not 100% ok so they don't play on the RS2 while foobar can still decode them. I'll be keeping an eye on this for updates from you and Joe. Good luck!

Hmm thank you but I dont think so :)
I and some of my friends played these 192khz files for years with some delta sigma DAP (AK, Pioneer, Onkyo...) and it's perfectly normal, but who know :)

And like I said previous post, now I'm so tired and dont care about technical, just music :D

As far as I know floating point only exists for 32bits and 64bits.

Hi Joe, thanks for your support!
And you're correct. I remember foobar show .wav 32/192 as "PCM floating point" and .wav 24/192 just "PCM".
But I think PCM floating point doesnt cause my problem, because my RS2 has lagging problem when play .wav files 24bit/192khz too. Here's my sistuation:
+ wav 32/192: lagging
+ wav 24/192: lagging
+ flac 24/192: perfectly fine*
* confirmed, I test 2 albums with these bit depth/sample rate (flac files, of course!)
+ flac 32/192: my RS2 plays well, too**
** not really, I just convert & test only 1 song (Fade To Black of Metallica'Ride The Lightning Vinyl Jap Edition from wav 32/192 to flac 32/192) ---> tonight I will convert & test some albums flac 32/192

So I think that sample rate 192khz (or above) + .wav file (not flac) cause my problem. And suprise RS2 play DSD so sweet!!! Ohh c'mon man :))

Update RS2 wav 192khz lagging problem:
I convert and test some album vnyl rip about 2 days, here's the result:
+ wav 16bit 44.1khz 2 channels: ok
+ flac 16bit 44.1khz 2 channels: ok
+ flac 24bit 44.1khz 2 channels: ok
+ flac 24bit 48khz 2 channels: ok
+ wav 24bit 96khz 2 channes: ok
+ flac 24bit 96khz 2 channels: ok
+ flac 24bit 96khz 6 channels: lag*
* I just have only 1 song with that resolution & RS2 seems to have problem with 6 channels recordings? I'm not sure about that
+ wav 32bit 96khz 2 channels: ok
+ wav 24bit 192khz 2 channels: lag
+ flac 24bit 192khz 2 channels: ok**
** I convert wav 24/192 (lagging file) to flac 24/192khz (by foobar, flac 4) ---> totally perfect, no more lagging
+ wav 32bit 192khz 2 channels (foobar show as "PCM floating point"): lag***
*** previous post I said that "convert wav 32/192 to flac 32/192"
---> my stupid mistake here, sorry about that :))
Flac does not seem to support 32bit? I set output convert 32bit (foobar, of course!) but it always produces 24bit results (the song "Fade to Black" that I converted 1st time and I didnt check the parameter carefully after converting file!).
So I had to convert wav 32/192 to wv 32/192 (wavpack) but RS2 cannot play file wv ---> really dont know what to do :D
+ wv 32bit 192khz 2 channels: cannot play
+ dsf DSD64 2 channels: perfect.
That's all my test with my RS2, how about you guys?

@Joe Bloggs: please tell me that my issue just a bug and you guys can easilly fix by a new firmware!!! Then you'll become my one true love, from bottom of my fragile heart!!!

There is basically no 32 bit music in the wild, so I would not be surprised if the firmware doesn't deal with it well. But it still looks like you have problems with 24/192, and that should definitely work.

Yup, my 32bit file's just for fun :D
But like I said previous post, wav 24/192 still lagging. For now I just convert to flac 24/192 and everything ok

Headquarters has raised two possible points:

1. Slow card? Wav is certainly less CPU intensive, but requires higher throughput from the SD card.
2. Is this definitely a regular PCM wav and not a DTS file?
