how's the quality of the materials used on these phones?
I demoed Ananda (and other models that are cheaper) and I wasn't happy with the quality of the materials/build.
I'm hoping the more expensive ones are different. Thanks!

Definitely better but maybe not as good as other headphones in the same price range. There’s more metal parts on the HE1000 (I think it’s all different parts of metal except for perhaps the “wood” and whatever is under the wood, which I’m assuming is plastic). I would say build quality and materials are a definite step up from the Aryas.how's the quality of the materials used on these phones?

I don't feel there's anything wrong with the build quality of HiFiMAN headphones, at all.
I've owned my HE1000V2 for 5+yrs without issue and they're still in perfect working/cosmetic order.

Same here. Arya, He1000se and Susvara have been in my possession without any issues.
But then I've owned Audeze LCD2f, LCD3f, LCD-X, LCD4 without any issues.
Also ZMF Atticus, Eikon and Verite LTD Open without any issues.
Also HD650 and HD800 without any issues.
Also Grado GH1, SR325x, Hemp, RS1X without any issues.
Also Beyer DT880 Pro, T1 and T2 without any issues.
Am I just lucky?

like the build quality of the pad covering may last long but the feel of the material on skin is not nice/smooth/whatever.

I agree - I started my journey with the Edition XS and loved them and found build to be great and now have HEK Stealths and feel exactly the same. They are definitely not the BEST looking HPs but I feel build quality is great imo.build quality can be different to the quality of the materials used.

I have the original HEK and have had them for 7 years now, not a single issue. Buld quality is fine if you ask me.

Something I posted in another thread but thought I'd share here. If you can't decide between HE1000 Stealth and the Arya Organic consider that the HE1000 Stealth has:
1. An overall nicer build quality
2. An extra year of warranty
3. Comes with both a 1/4" AND a balanced cable
4. Will likely hold its value better over time
I think the HE1000 Stealth is the logical choice for another $100. Or if you're okay with refurbished, even less than the Arya Organic.

Can someone clarify for me. Is the original HE1000 not stealth? I am getting confused.
Can get a HE1000v2 stealth on amazon brand new for £1350. I paid about £2400 for my original back in the day.

There's the HE1000, HE1000V2, HE1000 Stealth (which is the V2 with stealth magnets), and the HE1000se.Can someone clarify for me. Is the original HE1000 not stealth? I am getting confused.

All different models, and all the prices have dropped dramatically over time.

Been a long time ago since I listened to HE1000SE (I think 3-4 years ago). Today I had chance to tested the SE again, and somehow, my memory served me right. HE1000SE remain one of Hifiman headphones that I can easily enjoy. Note that I have hard time to liking any Hifiman headphones, included all iteration of HE1000 series except HE1000SE. Sundara is nice for the price but far from TOTL level, and Susvara is actually sounds great too, but need nuclear powered set up to do so.
HE1000SE is close to Susvara, but much easier to enjoy. Much easier to find amplifier pairing, with more forgiving character as well.
Tonal wise, still Hifiman, with very airy presentation and spacious soundstage, but Treble/Upper Mid is a bit rounded here, combine with more solid body in Vocal and Bass.

I still think day to day not a single one of those matter if the Organic's got a preferred sound.Something I posted in another thread but thought I'd share here. If you can't decide between HE1000 Stealth and the Arya Organic consider that the HE1000 Stealth has:

I'm considering A/B/Cing HEKV2 , HEKV2 Stealth, and Organic together to truly decide on my final eggshape.
I have a suspicious feeling where the Arya will lose in detail, it will make up with dynamics and fun.
The model numbers folks call their HPs is confusing and not the numbers themselves. The way folks throw around V2, V3 and so on. The HE 1000 Stealth is the Stealth forget the version number. Can someone clarify for me. Is the original HE1000 not stealth? I am getting confused.
