How would you describe Envy vs amps mentioned above? Yet to hear most of those.I demo'd the Viva Egoista 845, Felix Audio Envy and the Riviera AIC-10-BAL (all with stock tubes connected to a Chord Dave) with the Susvara, and to my ears I preferred my EF1000 (also with stock tubes and connected to my Chord Dave) ! If I hadn't have bought the EF1000, out of these three I would go for the AIC-10-BAL, although I would need to demo the Trafomatic Primevera too (which I am guessing would be better than the AIC-10 BAL and maybe as good as or even better than the EF1000) !

It was very good. If I had never heard the Viva, AIC-10-BAL and EF1000 with the Susvara, and upgraded to the Envy from a much lesser Amp, I would be very happy with the Envy. How would you describe Envy vs amps mentioned above? Yet to hear most of those.
The Viva had more body and 'meat on the bone' i.e. a thicker sound than the Envy with the Susvara. Some people like this type of sound others don't.
The other two have more of everything to the music I was listening too (particularly the EF1000).
Yeah its always difficult to compare tube amps because of stock tubes usually being a very sub pair choice. Envy is a whole different beast with some nos drivers and Elrogs / Western Electric tubes. Prolly need to take my tube set with me to the next fair lol

Well I guess we have different preferences. For example I would put the Primavera behind the 465, Viva and Riviera. However good enough such that based on preferences one might like it best. All are top notch. It is what hair of difference do you prefer.

I still have not gotten enough time with Envy. It is a more colored warmer sound. I do also like this sound as I used to run a Conrad Johnson PV-5 preamp on my 2-channel. I have long since replaced it, but kept it. So I would like to spend more time with one ( Envy) all decked out. Initial reaction for me was it would be a compliment and not my first choice. It interests me though.
And you writing about it keeps pulling at me….

Sorry about the two posts above folks. They were supposed to be replies, but somehow they did not go through that way. I added the original poster at the top so they make sense. My apologies. Tks.

Agree. Once you reach arguably the highest tier of performance, personal preference, chain, the type of music you listen to, etc. all factor much more highly into what people consider "better" or "best". Best to try and hear them yourself, or at least deduce what the signature of each might be and how it may map to your preferences.

And WRT chain, I would put more emphasis on the importance of having a demo (if possible) with your own system, as some amps would be more sensitive to different components used in one’s chain. Unfortunately I would have to always do a blind buy due to unavailability of exotic items in my country, but the good thing is I get to “demo” them in my own system

Hello, have somebody try susvara with schiit ragnarok 2?
What about the soundstage, layering, detail and weight of notes using susvara on it?
