Hey there, I've been looking for a solution of connection my Brainwavz HM5 to my Playstation 3 and I wanted to see if I should use some kind of a small portable amp(e.g.  FiiO E6 maybe).
 
My Playstation 3 is connected to my TV via HDMI and I need to figure out how to get my HM5 working with my PS3.
 
My only concern is the fact that I might not be so mobile around the room hence my PS3 is located right beneath my 43" screen TV which will be quite an eye sore sitting 1 meter away from. So I will need some kind of a possible way to get around, maybe a longer cable or such but then I'll have a 2-2.50 meter cable wondering around my floor which wouldn't be idle..

not entirely, should I plug the Y plug into my TV?
or there's an input on the PS3 which I didn't check?

He probably meant the TV. You could plug directly into the PS3 if you have one of the old AV cables that has the yellow video RCA and Left (white) and Right (red) stereo outputs. PS3 allows you to use HDMI for video and the AV cable for just audio, this is what am doing right now. I would recommend you use an amp instead of a volume control cause you will probably not get enough volume other wise (Even the E6 would be OK for that).

Would the E6 suffice?
I'm going to use the HM5 anyway and they're not that hard to drive so...

I can only see a multi AV connecting and a digital output(optical).
I think it's better off that I'll just connect the RCA cables straight into my TV seen as I don't have any AV cable and I'll probably feel a lot safer not having a cable that could tug my PS3 right onto the floor.
 
Edit: I couldn't find any RCA to 3.5 cables in my country so will a cable such as this will be good enough?
