After reading all of the posts about the new Westone 4 and seeing my broken UM1 with the cord unwound slightly and the left tip that falls off, I've been thinking about buying a new pair. Yeah.... I stepped on them by accident and broke off the entire left tip, fortunately it still works great the left tip just falls out from time to time. Anyway, I know the Westone 4 will be a jump in quality, but how large of a jump are we talking about? Will it be night and day where even a non-audiophile could easily tell the difference? Or is it more of a slight refinement in audio quality that wouldn't be noticeable unless you were looking for it?
 
Also, how would the sound signature differ between the two?
