I've always used my apple headphones, never used any really good headphones, and i finally decided to make the investment to buy some ath-m50's after saving up some money, i got them for 120 with 2 day shipping, how surprised were you the first time you listened to actually high quality headphones?

M50's were my first "good" headphone (I'm big on stereo speakers BUT travel ton and live in a townhouse...) and I was impressed with them especially for the price. I still have mine and use them when I travel.

m50s were pretty good,

I was coming from the 555's at the time.

I will say this, i did not initially for the first day have a "OMG AMAZING" Reaction. i do think there's some burn in with the m50s-the bass especially benefit from it.

My first headphone purchase was the M50 and I was like wow! the first time I heard it. I was coming from buds too. But the M50 was uncomfortable for me. But now I am on the HD 600 and I don't use the M50 anymore.

When I first heard the M50, it sounded a bit weak being driven from a cheap walkman. The E11 amp took it to the next level. Sounded similar to Portapros but a full size version.
