I absolutely love the Denon D2000 headphones. So I'm wondering, how similar in sound are the C700/C751 earphones? Obviously the D2000 is much better, but how similar is the sound signature? Somewhat similar?

It's hard to say because my D2000 have the APS v2 cable and have more highs and better bass control than stock.

Nevertheless, my re-cabled D2000 are closer to the C700 than are my HD600 or Grados. My Sennheiser HD25-1 with a stock HD600 cable were also similar, maybe closer, while the D2000 with APS v2 cable are still a better than C700/HD25.

How is the bass impact of the C700 compared to the D2000?

C700 bass is less than a new stock unburned-in D2000 which is a little bloated initially (or Darth Beyer); but equal to my well used APS v2 D2000 with headband set for a loose fit.

Also equal to HD25-1 and my 200 hour burned-in Proline 2500 bass, and only slightly below SE530 or Triple.fi 10 pro, but well above ER6i by a big margin.

Bass is not lacking at all. Just buy them. If you don't like 'em I'll paypal you $90 shipped for them
