Rob advised to use high gain with all headphones and switch to low gain only when you have to (background hiss, e t.c.). Low gain just includes additional resistor into scheme.
Mine is always in high gain.

Interesting. Could you maybe link the quote if you still have it? I will try that and see what happens.

I am just listening to "Letter" by Yosi Horikawa on my TT2 / Utopias. And it boggles the mind.

Edit: I wonder what it must sound like with an additional MScaler.

Well, there’s only one way to find out...

Agree about high gain for all headphones but sensitive IEMs. One other note though, low gain is also preferred if you're connecting to a sensitive power amp. I assume that's why DAC mode also uses low gain.

Kindly do share your findings with me and the world :)
Well, obviously I like having the M-Scaler but there are some who don’t think it’s worth the extra (significant) expense. The only way to find out is to try it yourself. Upgraded BNC cables help as well when connecting the M-Scaler to the TT2 in my opinion but some think the supplied cables are just fine. Mine had a 45 day return window as long as I paid return shipping which I considered as cheap insurance in case I didn’t like it. My findings are it’s worth it so I’m keeping it!

I leave it in high gain when going through my active speakers. I've no idea if the amplification is considered sensitive or not.

It sounds more real. Impressions depend on musical preferences. For vocals and live instruments M Scaler is a game changer. Every opera lover should buy it without doubts. HMS still would be an improvement for electronics or even popular music with it’s loud mastering, but not that big.

Sounds good. Id love to try one sometime soonish. You did not happen to try out the differences on that song by any chance?
