no to: closed backs, budsfat/overdone bass, hard treble, and no HFM because that's almost my whole collection. Can't afford estats plus amp, ribbons & AMT not quite ready.

My favs are: Susvara, Voce.

Quite like: 8000 PRO, LCD-4 OG (dislike other Audeze), HEK v2/v3, E2 (EQ treble needs EQ), HE-6 SE, guilty pleasure modded/EQ HE-500.

So basically audiophile with body and harmonics and also clean. Probably used, preference < $1250, limit $1700. See Sig for equipment.

Ideas so far:

HD-800 (no/minimal mods) After 20 years of superb speaker/room soundstage I miss it plus can use with both of my amps. Also probably on the cheap side vs other choices brought up here.

ZMF Auteur. If you change your mind about closed backs, the Denon D9200... I would sell my HD800S before I sold the Denon.

Also.like the HD-600, not the 650. 600 is superb on the BHCs.

The underwood LSA rebranded headphones especially the Diamond are very impressive
