If you could only own *one* headphone, which GRADO model would it be ?

If we omit the limited editions on that basis that they dont come up in FS very often, I believe that leaves us with :

SR60,SR80,MS1,SR125,SR225,MS2,SR325,RS2,MS-PRO,RS1

All I need now is my own island, access to every track every recorded (losslessly) and I could be happy with either the Ms-Pro or RS1. If I had to cut corners to be able to afford beer on my island, that would leave me with the SR60 - life could be a lot worse on my island.

If only all life's decisions were this simple :)

Sorry team - maybe I should have included the PS1K and GS1K, but word around the campfire is that they dont have the 'Grado sound'. They also seem to split people straight down the middle, particularly the GS1K, but if these are the headphones that you want to take to your island, who am I to stand in your way  :)

Yep - you can take whatever source/dac/amp combination you want, but only one headphone. And 12 virgins.

Can I drop the Grado for an extra virgin?

No - the rule is simple - you can either have all the Grados and one virgin or 12 virgins and one Grado. Man, its tough educating you young people on the harsh realities of life on an island paradise.

I would say that it would be the GS1000 out of all the Grados I have demoed. It was only slightly better to me than the RS1 but hey, if I don't have to pay for it, why not. I would say the PS1000 because it's the flagship, but I have never heard it so i would rather go with something I know sounded good. I'll take the one Grado and 12 virgins please.

I have not tried the GS1000 or the PS1000 but I would take my trusty RS2i's. I prefer them to the RS1i's because the treble is slightly more restrained and the music just seemed to jump at me a slight bit more aggressively. The more I listen to these the more in love with this sound I get.

I really can't wait for Chinese new year to end so they can send me my LD 1+, already got the GB408A's and opamps on the way. giddy I am.
