iFi Audio GO Bar Kensei... The Ultimate GO Bar Has Arrived!

Did you manage to compare? Thoughts?
Maybe I wasn't very clear. English is not my first language. But, I still don't have the Kensei... I'm waiting for comparisons from some people who commented here recently that I would hear on CanJam. Maybe someone who has the Mojo 2 and already has the Kensei can give us this comparison.

Based on what I heard at AXPONA, including one gentleman who had his Mojo 2 with him to compare, the impression of the GO Bar Kensei was very positive in comparison.

Keep in mind this was a noisy environment, and hopefully we will get some home environment comparisons here, but I must point out the positives that I heard in person, I am sure there will be varying opinions that we will have to wait for.

Cheers!!

Sadly there seems to be only two actual reviews of the unit, and nothing in deph on the selling point of K2HD
Ya sorry the K2HD stuff is way over my head unfortunately. Sometimes I can hear a very slight difference with certain iems and sometimes I can't.

 i dont *want* wav's to sound different, but they do.

If you want to scientifically verify whether or not two tracks are equal, you can use an audio player called FOOBAR2000, using its 'binary comparison' functionality:

https://www.foobar2000.org/components/view/foo_bitcompare

Whatever the type of input file, it compares the final bistreams (those that will be sent to the DAC), extracting them from the files you submit to the analysis, whether they are lossy or lossless compressed.

Cool I'll check it out thx

Here's my review of the Kensei with some added tohughts about K2HD

https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/ifi-audio-go-bar-kensei.27123/reviews

I really like the Kensei, it has given me far more depth to my music than any other dongle has managed to do until this point.

K2HD, strange one for me as I'm really not usually into what I might think is a gimmick but on the Kensei it works. I'm struggling to really explain how or why I think it works but tracks just sound better.

We are glad you are pleased!

And I will certainly pass along your request for the Doomsday Dongle! :L3000:

Cheers!!
I understand that K2HD is a way to effectively upsample music to 192kHz/24-bit.
In a similar way Cayin RU7 is upsampling it to DSD64/128/256.

However, I have doubts one can benefit from this if listening to a music in CD quality. I think the main benefit would be when listening to a lossy format like mp3. Am I correct?

Can you guys take the sound measuring contest to PMs? No one else in this thread cares and neither of you are going to convince the other.

Thank you for the review! By any chance did you get a chance to try it with lossy sources like Spotify/Youtube/Soundcloud? It seems like the K2HD tech is really subtle... looking into it it reads like a typical upscaler but the secret sauce is in the high range (20K+) where it will fill in missing data. I tried looking into reviews of different products that carry the same tech and the dac/amps all had reviews in Japanese so it was pretty difficult to make sense of it.

I'll try with Spotify over the next day or two when at home.
I tried briefly but will give it more time on both Spotify and YouTube

In this case could you please try it with several different mp3 files - 128k, 192k and 320k?
I really wonder about what the K2HD can do to mp3s. Thank you and many thanks for your review
