Trying to stack my HIP DAC with a Sony NW-A105 playing Apple Music. When I play Apple Music nothing plays on the HIP DAC.

Isn’t that device already a DAP with its own DAC built in? Are you able to play any other services with an external DAC attached?

Yes it already has a dac but wanted more power for my headphones.

my only source of music is apple music.

yeah i saw that it has no usb out… hmm i also did see some people use with other dac amps. Wondering if there was a setting i’m missing heeh.

You mean the Sony NW-a105? I have this DAP and it can indeed output digital audio via its usb.

Doesn't this require a 'special' usb cable before it outputs a signal. I know my A40 and ZX300 do. Unfortunately, I don't remember what it was called but it was a bit pricey.

Edit: It's the WMC-NWH10 cable

nw-a105 is using usb-c and not wmport like the a40 and zx300

I haven't tried any other apps except the default sony player just playing music from the sdcard.
