Introducing NEO iDSD2! The world's first lossless Bluetooth DAC/Amp...

Open a ticket with iFi Audio and tell them the problem. They'll take care of you. The Ticket date should forestall any return deadline but contact your retailer also. It's likely a situation where a software update will do the job.
Absolute solid advice, I always say at the first sign of something not quite up to snuff open a ticket with our support. This is the best way to get any issue addressed.

We have some very helpful folks here on this forum and even if quick advice is found here it is still important to report it as the next folks will benefit from the report, and if changes need to be made the more reports the better!

Cheers!!

@iFi audio Can the iDSD2 transmit Bluetooth to wireless headphones, or is it receive only?

It features Auto iEMatch to reduce annoying hiss from high-sensitivity headphones without losing any dynamic range and four gain settings ranging from -12dB to +16dB, making it suitable for all your IEMs and headphone types, from super-sensitive to power-hungry.

So, would this feature allow me to use my most sensitive IEMs with a higher position on the volume knob compared to the Zen CAN (original)?

I ask because a few of my IEMs get loud at about the 9:30 position on the CAN volume knob, and there are still imbalance issues with potentiometers, I assume.

I got a reply right away today and since they didn't get a duplicate of the problem I sent them a video. I'm not surprised because you have to have Qobuz with HQPlayer and 48k DSD selected and Apaptive rate selected to notice it. And only with speakers.

I would think so, have you ever tried the iEmatch on the Zen Can itself?

I personally don't have any "Super" Sensitive IEMs but I use the iEMatch on my Darkvoice 336 when I want to listen to IEMs on it and it allows me to get that volume knob up to a better place.

Cheers!!

How can take full advantage of FLAC and MQA on Tidal using my:

1. M1 Mac Mini
2. Neo2
3. Tidal Hi-Fi Plus

For Apple Music what kind of read out on the Neo2 should I be looking for, for the best sampling?

Right now the read out of the Neo2 shows "PCM" 44.1k. Am I streaming the highest resolution available? If not how do I get a higher music sampling to the Neo2 and/or get the Neo2 to recognize the highest resolution available?

Thanks for the help! My Schiiit Asgard 3 with TrueMultibit card had no adjustment other than "gain".

When using Tidal you will often get PCM 44.1 as that is the sample rate of the particular album you are listening too. In some cases you will see different/higher rates but it all depends on what the encoding is for the Album selected, all you can do with Tidal is set it to Max and they send you the best possible resolution based on that.

The same goes for MQA if the album is still encoded in that you will see the MQA indicator.

The best connection you have for the highest sampling rates is a direct USB connection from the Mini to The NEO, this will ensure you are listening to the highest rates available for your chosen album.

Cheers!!

How would this compare to the sound signature of the iDSD micro BL, or perhaps the Gryphon? Thanks in advance.
I have not been able to listen to one yet, but I am sure as more units get "out in the wild" many folks will chime in on sound signature and comparisons.

Cheers!!

@iFi audio what are the changes in firmware 1.14 from 1.13? I just got my DSD2 today and updated the firmware easily with the app, but there’s no documentation about the changes that I can find.

So, any news on the actual RMS power output?

I am sorry @Currawong, I did ask but haven't gotten an answer. I did forget about it myself so I will ask again and apologise for not having an answer yet.

Cheers!!

I will see if I can find any paper related to what the firmware entails.
