Xiaomi launched the new 4 driver (2×2) hybrid bluetooth earphones on 11th of November 2019. These are high quality IEMs paird with a clip on bluetooth receiver. These are audiophile earphones provide what Xiaomi claims is “Hi-RES” audio, and is the most expensive IEMs that Xiaomi makes. This is paired with a Bluetooth 5.0 receiver that supports the LDAC codec (highest wireless audio quality). For those who want a more pure audio experience, the buds support cable swapping via the mmcx plug – meaning purist audiophiles can use their nice silver coated cables on these. The release price is 999 RMB as stated on the Xiaomi Website.

Driver Setup
For the driver setup, Xiaomi chose to use a 2×2 setup with 2 Balanced Armature (BA) drivers and 2 dynamic drivers.

Balanced Armature drivers are popular because the combine the best of both worlds – fine detail in sound via the Balanced armature drivers whilst the dynamic drivers deliver a strong bass punch. What’s special about the dynamic driver setup is that they have a specially designed 2 driver unit which uses a large and small membrane. Most IEMs use only a signal dynamic driver, whilst this one uses two to give extra power.

Bluetooth Reciever
Xiaomi includes a clip-on Bluetooth 5.0 receiver with LDAC support with these IEMs. The receiver outputs with 3.5mm standard audio socket, so it could used to other headphones as portable Bluetooth receiver.

So, how come not much more on these guys. Sounds like the BT dongle sound quite good with LDAC esp. and the earphones are solid as well though could use a better cable. Figure including so many accessories would prevent the stock MMCX cables from being anything other than decent.
