For the short time I had a pair of k701s. I really enjoyed them after my ears got used to the tininess of the high end. The acoustic guitar and similar represenatation was phenomenal and very "airy". Which might have just been also because they are probably the most comfortable headphones I've ever worn.  I ended up selling them and my hd650s  as I found the k701 a bit lacking in the low end.

tl;dr
My question is , is there a headphone that compares to k701's highend but with more of a low-end as well.

The DT880 has a little bit of both - more bass and more treble, but the soundstage is narrower, so it's not as "airy" as the K701. The DT880s are relatively treble-heavy, though, moreso than the K701.

My (ALO) recabled K701s had excellent bass, far more than stock ones.  I was still looking for a bit more, so I sold them, but I'd suggest a recable.  The difference was night and day.

Hee, hee.  :)  I always try to post my opinion whenever I see a comment like this.

I had K701's, and they didn't last long for me because of the lack of bass.  In fact, the lack of low end for these caused my brain to think of them as a fair amount brighter than the DT880's.  Now, I also have the 250 ohm model DT880, which does have slightly mellower highs than the 600 ohm model too.

So whether or not in an aboslute sense the DT880's have more or less treble than the K701's, I absolutely found them to be a much more balanced headphone simply because they have much more and better bass than the K701's, IMO.

Very hard to get the K-701/2 sounds form others hps, but...the CD-3000 and the Stax-4070 is in the K70X sounds directions, and you'll not get more bass out of them.

More agressive sounds all over the sounds spectrum you can find in the Ultrasones PL/Pro-650-to-900. The Pro-900 have much more bass, and for people's can be over powering.

The HD-800 are in the same direction as well, and they have more sub bass, You can get even more bass powered by tubes.

More so than the LCD-2 ? From graphs only, the LCD-2 seems like it won't perform as well as the k701 in the high end. I can't say that I've even looked at the HE-6.

The HE-6 is your headphone but they need speaker amp power.

Thank you much for the thoughts. I'll wait til my LCD-2's arrive and if I find them lacking, I'll sell them for HE-6's :)
