Thanks, they have some shops in the EU.

What brands do they carry that you would recommend?

Keychron is it's own brand so everything on their site should be by them, I think their Q series should be what you are looking for with full metal chassis and with the option coming fully assembled keycaps and all. It's their sort of "custom" offering for the mass-market, but all the features tend to be quite well executed. I'd have a look at the different Q boards as they offer quite a few different layouts from the small 40% to the more traditional full size keyboards. A good feature is they offer VIA support which is a key remapping soft-ware so you can play around with keybinds if you are interested - its probably the most popular key remapping software in the custom keyboard world and offers a nice GUI.

So today I finally got angry after all the time I spent trying to find a decent keyboard. Went from Logitich G keyboard to HyperX Alloy, which was super nice, but my fingertips started to hurt.

So I bought a Razer Huntsman V2 with red swithces, which worked pretty nicely for around 5 days, but people around the internet convinced me to try a Keychrone Q6 keyboard, which indeed is nicer than all of the above. It takes some time to get used to it, but eventually this is where I will stop. Purchased it locally just to make sure I can return it in 14 days if I end up hating it, but it is different than any of the gamer keyboards people usually flaunt (logipic, razer, steelseries, etc).

What switches are you using in your HyperX. I found those keyboards surprisingly good and well built but sadly they're no longer sold here. I have about 6, half with Cherry Browns and the other have with Cherry Blues.

I had only the red switch from HyperX. I originally was using brown for a few years, but I started to dislike the scratchy feeling you get when you pess the key all the way down, so I decided to go with RED for almost 1 year, so I only experimented the RED variation for HyperX. Also RED swithces now , and Razer had red switches too. Gateron are much smoother, HyperX is second, razer is third and logitech is extremely scratchy when it comes to the switch feeling

I haven't tried any other switches other than Cherry, and the IBM buckling springs. The Cherrys feel good to me, I'm surprised you had any issues. Anyway glad you are sorted now.

Very cool thread, didn't realize this existed here. I used to be huge into the keyboard community, been mentally checked out for the past year or so. Here's some of what I've been using lately. The Kira80 uses some modded Cthulhu Frankenswitches while the ESNTL board has Everglide Aqua King Water King Switches V3.

My Drop ctrl TKL is still my daily.
Had it for ages - can't even remember what switches it has. They are clicky like Cherry blues, but they were a different brand. Apart from the WASD which are linear.
"Artisan" key-cap on ALT "winks" - when the (scrolling) red backlight goes under the blue eye it dims.
