Hi Everybody,
Just wanted to share an experience and ask a question.
The experience: I bought a pair of Grado 325is almost exactly 4 years ago. A few months ago, the right driver developed some problems. I sent them in to Grado for repair last week, and a couple of days ago they came back with brand new drivers. This is all for $45! I know just about everyone is aware of Grado's excellent service, but I feel like it is never bad to heap praise where it is deserved.
The question: Immediately, the headphones sounded much different. Out of the box the treble was quite harsh. I had never been a big believer in break-in, but I ran them for around 30 hours, and, I now believe in break-in. The treble was toned done hugely. However, they still sound different to me. They sound smoother and more defined. (Sorry for the wine-review style adjectives, but this is the best I can do.) So, does anybody know if there has been a driver revision in the past four years? I realize this all may be in my head, but things do seem different.
