1000+ Head-Fier
Hi folks
Anyone who's read my posts will know just how much I like the Sony WH1000XM2. My latest purchase was the Dekoni Pleather pads for them and it's made them even better.
Anywayyyy - I've just updated the firmware on them through the Sony Connect app and, to my ears at least, there appears to be a subtle improvement in sound quality. I'm also able to crank up the bit rate for LDAC (through Android's Developer Options settings) and still maintain a solid connection. This was something I could never do before without suffering too many dropouts.
From a sound quality perspective the bass appears to be slightly tamed and tightened and the sound is slightly more 'airy' and spacious. Could easily be a placebo effect taking place but these headphones use lots of processing - even with noise cancelling switched off - so subtle EQ changes could easily be made.
My WF1000XM3's don't appear to sound any different - still utterly marvellous!
Anyway - just thought I would share.
