does anyone know if the Fidelity ears are having same problems as the company mylivewires in california? Im getting a refund and am going some other company. Im sorta thinking about trying the triple driver fidelity customs.

Read my posts in the past few pages. I've been checking this thread to make sure people don't get confused about the two companies.
Livewires and Fidelity are completely different now, and Fidelity offers amazing customer support with the original Livewires product. I got my monitors back to me in less than a week from when I went to their office to get impressions made.

So i phoned the CA office and got martha on the phone and she said that they had a problem with 1 of my earpieces and it had to be shipped back. So now i have to wait longer now but im just wondering if this is even true or not. I am so fed up with this company that I want to get a refund but will they send back my molds so that i can go somewhere else? I even put a rush on these headphones and its been 2 1/2 months which is unexceptable even with the problems they are having. John does not answer any of my emails but when i wanted to purchase a pair he answered immediately, I guess he just wanted my money. Anywase I just wanted to let everyone know that they should stay away from the CA company mylivewires.com very poor service all around.

OMG...I had the same problem. They kept giving me the run around. i was so PO. I had to request them to refund my money back. (Of course there were some hesitation from CA office.) I didn't have the patience anymore so I decided to try out TN office (thru a friend). I got mine from TN office less than two weeks. They do have better service. U should give them a try.

Yeah, You're right about the two companies and with the original Livewires. Fidelity do have better customer support.

I wanna see if someone has a solution for this too. Sometimes my cable gets stuck between my back and the guitar cable and starts pulling down, which gets to be pretty annoying. I found a clip from an old pair of sony earphones that I currently use, but the clip is starting to lose it's grip...

So i had a spare cable clip from my blackberry earphones that i used, works GREAT! i'm sure that you can buy a really cheap set of earphones from the mall kiosks that would have a clip on them, take the clip off and there you have it!

I ordered mine from the Fidelity company and the CS was amazing, catherine promised me that they would be shipped out 2 weeks from when they received the impressions and she delivered. exactly 2 weeks later i got the fedex tracking #.

Use the TN office, they will NOT disapoint.

Just packed up the livewires and sent them back for a refit. the left is sealing periodically and the right not at all...what a disappointment! When i got them i had a major head cold so i thought they were ok, when the cold went away so did all the love for the iem's. When they were good they were very very good though, i'm positive that i'll be happy with them again.

Will keep you all posted!

I had sent my ear impressions to the TN office even though I was supposed to send it to the CA office for replacements. So I called the CA office, no answer, I called again another day, no answer. Got fed-up as I wanted information I called the TN office, no answer, but I got a call back from the TN office within the minute (wow), and they had i-me-dia-te-ly shipped my impressions to the CA office. Now have to wait for the CA office to actually do their job and make me new headphones.

At the moment, through all my dealings with the TN office I cannot recommend this one enough, they've always answered or called back within the day. I have not tested their product, but they use the same manufacture as the CA office used to use, and although it broke, the SQ before was stunning (2 driver version).

Now I cannot NOT recommend the CA office enough. Their CS is really terrible, and you are never sure if they are lying to you about the status of your purchase or repair. I just want my headphones back and I don't want to deal with them, I hope I can get them back, and just use them for a year+ and never deal with them again.

Yes the NASHVILLE office is the one to go to.. The CA office as i have said is of no help. And they are currently TWO DIFFERENT companies as previous posters have commented.
I want o make that clear for anyone coming in late... What a shame too. Nashville is on top of the game and Catherine is right on it and helpful with a fast turn around from what i have read over and over again..

Well i have had a fit issue on the set that i got from CALIFORNIA (sorry about the caps, just want it to be perfectly clear).
My Right ear does not seal. The Left is OK.
I am a touring bass player that needs to have as good of isolation that i can get.
As you know if you break seal you loose bass and im a bass player that need to lock with a drummer.. ughhhh
If i take drink off a water bottle i break seal in both ears and i have to struggle to re seat them.. If i smile at someone in the crowd they break seal.
Again this is from the CA office and not Nashville.. Nashville rocks in a good way.

And the right ear will occasionally seat but i spend more time playing with it and its a PITA when i am on stage.

Right after i got them i finally got to talk with John Diles in CA. He had me send him photos of my ears with the IEMS .. and he said it was not locking properly.. Well i know that.. he said to twist them etc. I did that. still no sealing...

The right ear is the issue. for me picture the right ear as a funnel and the piece that supposed to fit into the funnel has a larger shaped cone angle not fitting into the receptacle..

I called him again two weeks ago and no reply. I have emailed him two times in the past two weeks and no reply. The last email was on Friday of last week today being Monday.. I figured give him some time over the Easter weekend to get mail.

The CS SUX in Cali.

My last email said that i wanted to get my money returned... I cant use these , not even on my Ipod .. And NO phone or email reply...
I feel for the guy since he is trying to run a business and i have no idea what he is up against. But at least tell me what is going on, tell me the truth and i can work with you then. But so far and from my personal experience he has not told me what is going on and he has not told me the truth on more than one occasion from what i can gather..
So i want my money back!
And how do i do that since there is no reply to anything. and if i diud send him the monitors to return, how do i know i will get a check in full from him.
I will call the BBB today to post a comment because i have exhausted other means.

I was going to just order another set from Nashville but the folks on my tour set me up with Westone.. so i got a set of ES2s here they are.. took 7 days from impressions to fedex delivery... they cost more but oh well...
I will still order another set of livewire for my Ipod.. oops i mean Fidelity from the NASHVILLE office soon to keep with me since my Westones usually go with my gear and road crew.
Here is a pic of my new westones in Candy Purple. Perfect fit and they sound like bigger UM2s..

Wow, that sucks for all the trouble that you went through. When listening with your iPod, and not moving a muscle once you have a seal in both ears, how does the LW sound vs the ES2?

Did you get the Fidelity triple or dual?

Can you give us a review of the SQ while monitoring drums?

I've got a question for all of you who own those livewires (CA or TN): did you ever need to have them re-tooled because after a year or two your ears had changed shape and the seal wasn't good anymore?
I'm concerned because Catherine (from TN office) told me that ears change shape (ever so slightly, I guess) every 3-4 years and I was just wondering if she's just trying to cover her behind by stating that or if it's a reality that I may have to tweak my IEMs every 4 years or so.

well if i dont swallow, the LW seal will stay put..
biggrin.gif

and it is the CA office. I don't think it is a problem with anything else but that i got a badly manufactured item... im sure mine is a One Off mess...
But at least return my calls or emails .. you know. I have been fairly patient with him..
And now i have asked for my money back under the 30 day guarantee. .dont think that is going to happen... I dont want to say what i would like in fear of being banned here for foul language.

As far as the sound.. The LW if i hold them into my canal sound very good.
I have not spent much time with them since i really cant use them on my tour.. i have been using a set of UM2s until i just got my ES2s the other day..

The ES2 seems to be a biy silkier on top and a slightly extended deeper low. its not a world of difference but there is a difference..
The difference in fit is night and day.. The Westones i can drink water , smile, talk with someone, swallow, and even yawn without breaking seal .. my universal UM2s have a better seal than my LW set. and sound deeper and a little more hifi than my particular set of LW unfortunately.. but im sure that is die to the seal problem.

the end part of the ES2 is slightly softer material that allows it to seat and form nicely.. I had them in for 6 hours yesterday without any fatigue at all.
The Westone wire is more flexible so there is no way you are going to get cord vibration in your ears..

I cant tell ya how nice they fit.. and i even went to the same audiologist to get my new impressions done and john at LW in CA has my impressions and has not returned my call to return them...
I think the guy took off and went to mars or something... the CS is horrible in the CA office . Im not the only one saying it...
The Nashville Fideloity ears is just the complete opposite when ever i called there.. courteous and friendly, and would call you back if you had a question.. That goes a long way for me.
I hate to go negative but if you run a bizz the way John is out in CA you should not be in business.. I sort of feel like it is my responsibility to let everyone know what a mess it is there.

I want to thank you all for being so nice and helpful to a relative new comer to your forum... there is alot of good stuff here.
I belong to TalkBass.com - Bass Guitar and Double Bass Forums, Gear Reviews, Answers to your questions on Basses, Amps, Strings, Pickups and more. it is a bassplayer forum... all sorts of bass gear stuff.. amps, tubes m basses... there are weenies over their but there are alot of good folks too..

I will continue to stop by here to see updates..

right now i just want John Diles to honor his 30 day guarantee and return my money.. i will send him the ears.. i just dont know if i could trust him at this point . can ya blame me?

^^ Just cancel the charge with you credit card company. The 30-day money guarantee is stated very plainly on their website and it's easy for your credit card company to verify. Obviously, be sure to send them back using a trackable shipping method and get a signature on delivery.
