It seems that the Tung-Sol, and it's rebadged variants, is a very popular choice to replace stock 6AS7 and 6080 tubes.  However, reading the specs on the tube, it is not a direct replacement for the stock tubes. 
 
Despite the fact that many Woo amp owners use it, there are some posts here that were essentially email reposts from Jack Wu stating that the 5998 might over heat Woo amps.
 
I'm no expert on circuits, so could someone fill me in with the details.  Is there any risk, no matter how small, of using the 5998 in Woo amps designed for the 6AS7?

The 5998 is a direct drop in for the WA3. It is a rare tube to find but it is one of the best available.
