I wasn't sure where to post this; I hope this is the right section. Anyways, I'm trying to find someone that might be willing to mod my AKG K712 Pro headphones to work with my balanced amplifiers. If possible, I'd like the cable to be detachable as well.

If anyone is interested and has some experience doing the mod, please just let me know; i'll gladly pay for the modification as long as the price is reasonable. Thanks!

I did my K7XX, wasn’t very hard, the little screws under the cap strip easy but that was my only trouble. Message me I could help you.

My client wanted it that way. Many headphones has mXLR connectors eg. Audeze, ZMF, DCA and more, so many aftermarket cables are available.

Your double ended balanced implementation, is a very nice job

Not owning a 3D printer, could not start to think at eventually “rebuilding” the opposite side of the original one nicely like you. It would have be a butchery.

So, I decided to make use of the one side connector space already present at the origin, then to put my 4 pins miniXLR there.
Becoming a single-ended balanced connection of my own.

Then, I DIY my own cables from the source, through the amplifier stage, till the headphones. All balanced.

Watching at audio cables prices… it looked too crazy to me.
But if some can afford $600 + for double ended balanced cables… why not great.
