  Can't find an MHA-150 thread. Weird. I'd be sure some of you guys may upgrade or something. Keeping an eye on the McIntosh MHA-150 for upgrade next year (summer time) or possibly going with something else, would prefer the Mac though.

My understanding is that the only difference between the MHA100 and MHA150 is the DAC and since I am using an extranl high performance DAC there is no point for me to upgrade.

You do realize that the D100 is all you need for a Mcintosh sound for headphones for half the price, right? MHA100 is only useful for those who need both speakers and headphones.

I’m wondering of anyone here can help me, I’ve recently connected my mha100 to my windows 10 pc via USB and downloaded the deivers as per the download page over on mcintosh website.

Anyway my issue is I have now lost all use of the Spatial sound features that windows 10 offers for example I can no longer access dolby atmos for headphones it just won’t work and doesn’t even show up I can’t even use windows 10 sonic surround sound 7.1 thats built into the operating system of windows.

When I had my Chord Hugo 2 no issues just plug and play (I was using the hugo 2 as the dac but the built in dac in mha100 perfect for my needs so I sold the hugo 2) anyway with the hugo 2 everything just worked and I could use dolby atmos etc but now my mha100 is directly connected I have lost all that ability, it still plays music fine and everything but I just get the extra features on windows 10 to work like they did with every other amp/dac I’ve ever owned.

Does anyone know a fix for this? Also how do you update the firmware on the mha100 I cant find anywhere to do this.

After doing some AB with my Chord Hugo vs the DAC in the MAC. OMG... the hugo is SO MUCH better. Detail, space, speed.
Still love the mac, haven't sold it yet, which is the ultimate praise in high-end audio.

But there may be a solution for you. I have a USB to SPDIF converter, works well and cleans up the USB noise. I bet you could run PC into a converter then optical or coax into the mac. SOTM makes a nice converter, Schiit made one as well. Works great and improves the sound quality.

A VERY long time with no posts.Bumping as I just finalized a deal with most excellent member louis9 for a beautiful condition MHA-100!
I have my well broke in HFM Sundara's & a brand new pair of iBasso SR-1 Limited Editions due in tomorrow to cover headphone listening & a pair of Harbeth M30.1 monitors for normal listening..I am REALLY looking forward to next week!
