Bravo. Nice to get an update from the source.
The most awesome looking cans on the market!.Hi everyone.
Just wanted to let you know that the Empyrean is indeed coming this year.
We are building them already as we speak in our headquarters in Baia Mare. There is normaly only one expert person who builds the Empyrean from start to finish so we can only build a few pieces per day. Sometimes me and Paul Stet and Mircea Fanatan (my product development colleagues) also build Empyreans for the pure fun of it, but we are also pretty busy working on some new projects and in general running the company.
Jude has a pair of the final Empyrean and he posted measurements of the alcantara earpads. The Empyrean might come with a second pair of earpads made of leather which have a different sound.
I apologize if I will post only rarely and not address all issues. I will randomly answer questions every now and then whenever I will have time.
For those curious, I sometimes post development process pics to my Instagram https://www.instagram.com/antonio_meze/
We will soon release the website product page of the Empyrean and start taking preorders probably before the end of the month. Hopefully. We will try to start delivering headphones in November.

Glad you posted this. I was just looking at that NAD, thinking "WTF?"
NAD isn't horrible, but it's not even in the same universe as the Empyrean.

It has been my experience that a "flat" line from 20hZ through to the upper midrange usually indicates a not very present bass. For anyone who has auditioned the Empyrean, did they find this to be the case here?

Maybe we need to wait until Jude teaches us how to interpret a raw graph?

Definitely not, at least not w/the 2 Empyreans I listened to at CanJam NYC earlier this year. Bass was very present & very nice, indeed. Though truthfully, it was that rich/big midrange that captivated me. Just about the most musical sound I've ever heard from headphones...
Of course, Meze may have re-voiced it since then...? No idea, but there has been speculation to that effect in this thread.
Last impression I read from RMAF said the bass was still quite present, more so than the measurements might lead one to believe.Definitely not, at least not w/the 2 Empyreans I listened to at CanJam NYC earlier this year. For anyone in the U.K. it seems we will be getting them for an exceptionally reasonable £2699. Considering their performance and comfort, I think thats a steal.
