MiniBox-E+ or iBasso P2

Which one is better? Why? I'm narrowing it to these two because they both have a bass boost option, and I've read good things about their sound quality, but I'm still open to other portable amps with bass boost.

The P2 is an exciting amp and SQ is nice with lots of bass reserve.

The minibox-e also allows opamp rolling. its just nobody on this forum has tried and documented it yet

Actually Vorlon1 has and we compared the stock (8610) w/ rolled (AD744) and the AD744 did improve on the dynamics/presentation. Hopefully Rob will chime in to provide additional information.

Be aware that the AD744 is less suited for low voltages (especially below 12V total) than the AD8610.

I liked the AD746 @12V, anyway.

Never listened to both. However it can be, as with the more-than-two-channel circuitry you just never know

So, anyway, the P2 may suit the OP just fine?

I did have the former P1. Thinking of it, even with the OPA2107 in all channels it didn't sound that bassy. Full sounding, yes. I'm saying it because the P2 appears to have essentially the same circuitry, just rearranged and perhaps a little improved.

The P2 with the right opamps is very transparent, dynamic and textured. It goes way beyond the price in fact if it cost more it would probably sell better.

I'd suggest you to buy Minibox-E+, sounds really great with every single phones I have tried, from low to high impedance. It also has 75ohm resistor and crossfeed. And Fangs customer service is super, if you never have any problems, he'll fix them..

In the end, I haven't heard the P2..

Haven't heard the P2. The Minibox E+ is fun. It is punchy and Dynamic. Seems well made. The switches are small However. My big Hands have a hard time manipulating. I like the volume wheel. In a shirt pocket.
