She just popped out and dangles there now. Going through the repair process seems like such a hassle. It looks like a clean separation and I was thinking of just using a metal epoxy and "gluing" it back, but am not that experienced in these matters.

If you glue it, it'll plummet in potential resale value. Where did it break, exactly? More pics would probably help.

I can't see any part that has 'broken' or 'severed' per se.... more so just "popped" out it seems.

I'd say open it up and see if it's fixable.
