So I'm looking to move into the big boys league.

Closed headphones with great oomph and soundstage to them.

Current collection:
Sennheiser HD598
Audio Technica ATH-AD700
Audio Technica M50s LE

Previously Owned:
Denon AH-D2000
Sennheiser HD555
Audio Technica M50s (originals in blue box)

The new headphone will mainly be used for music and looking to replace the M50s. Love the hard hitting mid bass on the M50s.

Music listening:
Rock (Seether/Pearl Jam): 40%
Pop (any current billboard chart toppers): 20%
Electronic (deadmau5): 10%
Hip Hop (Jay-Z): 10%
Orchestra (lord of the rings soundtrack): 10%

Thanks!

Honestly you should try the Philips Cityscape Downtown amped. I understand you may be hesitant, but give them a try! They are simply an awesome headphone when well amped. Deep bass, flat frequency response up to 1kHz, nice bit of treble roll of to be easy on the ears, and they seal really well for being on-ear. Otherwise I would go for the LCD-2 Rev 2 or newer, but keep in mind that I find the headband extremely uncomfortable and the headphones themselves are a bit heavy.
