I am in the market for a closed-back headphone under $1,000.

I listen to classical (mainly symphonies) and jazz 90% of the time.
My source is Apple Music HiFi (24/96 mostly) through my iPhone with the Audioquest Dragonfly Red DAC/Amp.

Currently, I'm looking at the DCA Aeon Noire and Beyerdynamic T5 (3rd gen).

I got a pair of LCD-XC (2019) with burbinga wood for under $1,000. Great looking phones with collectable potential.
They are now my reference closed backs. Love the warm cocoon of tight bass with great mids and treble as well. As to the 730gm weight, if I am reclining in my La-Z-Boy I can enjoy for a couple of hours no problem.

However, unless I really need to isolate, my open Grados get the most listening time. 80% of listening is Jazz or at least acoustic instruments.
