The Senn is a little warm for my taste, as well a peaky for certain frequencies.
The Grado is a bit too bright, even with MrSpeaker Doggie Treats.

I listen to mostly rock. These headphones are for work, so all I have there is my Mac into a Magni (I cannot have a DAC at work).

I'm looking for a fun sound, not too bright, not too warn :)
They also have to be very open. I need to be able to hear a knock on my door or the fire alarm or the phone.

Looking int he 300 range. Used at that price range is OK too.

Your help is appreciated.

I think a used HD 650 or (if you get lucky) HE400i provide a good balance of "not too bright, not too warm" you're looking for. How "fun" that is is subjective, though. For me, a "fun" headphone is more colored than those, particularly in terms of bass impact.
