USB DAC yes, LO not as far as I can tell. There's no switch or setting for LO, so not sure if there's an automatic LO switchover. There's also no LO vol lock in audio settings, so I suspect there's no true LO here.
Thank you so much!

That’s interesting! If I understand it right, there are two sound paths/profiles (Line 1 & 2), so the 4x DACs are not used together, it is 2 sets of 2x DACs for either Line1” or “Line2” and a (SW?) switch:
$249 each. Incredible value if you ask me.price? FAudio and hiby IEM collab too?
There's currently no such switch implemented as far as I can tell, so I'm not sure which line they're using. Initial listening suggests clean and clear. That’s interesting! Just want to confirm this is from Hiby directly and not their new Hiby Digital?

I've had players that sound better in that situation from the HF out when they had Low available. Likely had to do with the higher impedances some line outs have. I'd wait for a review of that before dismissing it. By nature of it's price it will have a relatively simple path without as much custom amp layer added. A lot of these lower priced players effectively have high current, low impedance line stages with a volume control.Thank you so much!

It’s just Hiby yeah. I actually think it would’ve made more sense to brand it as the Hiby digital sub brand due to the price.Just want to confirm this is from Hiby directly and not their new Hiby Digital?
Doesn’t make much sense to go for the m300 (or in my sense keep it) with the r4 soon to be released for $249.

I don’t see it that way…. The R4 is the HiBy (audiophiles target) equivalent of the HiBy Digital (lifestyle target) M300–hence the not too distant price. It’s just Hiby yeah. I actually think it would’ve made more sense to brand it as the Hiby digital sub brand due to the price.

The same way you see no point in saving a few bucks for an M300, a “lifestyle” potential buyer would see no point in spending more for 4x DACs, balanced output, larger device, Android 12 instead of 13, etc.
I'm looking forward to an actual high quality portable DAP, which this seems to be. Can't wait for it to come out in the US.
hmm... plan to buy r6 pro ii to replace ru7 for more convenient outside usage (cant find any small good case that can fit both dongle & my iem)
but this r4 spces looks really fine too , more pocketable and also cheaper
