New Head-Fier
It all depends on your budget, and what type of source you are already using now with the Arune, to understand what your listening habit is and what your references are.Hi, I recently purchased aune s17 pro for my headphone but still looking for DAC.
I was checking and found Xduoo XD05 pro which can be kinda portable yet be used as desktop DAC for the unit.
Does anyone think its good ideal or bad ideal to run it this way? ( I am kinda newbie and looking for many advice for a cheaper dac)
If i posted this on wrong forum i am sorry.
Choosing a Xduoo XD05 pro would make more sense if you hadn't already invested in a good amp, and would probably lead to you spending another 1000+ dollars to then customize it.
Having already invested in an excellent amp, you could instead try with cheaper DAC/AMP or Dongle, but equally good sounding if combined with a good amp, such as FiiO Q15, or iBasso Elite, or Astell & Kern HK HC4, just to name a few.
Get well informed by following the various threads before making this decision; I got the Xduoo XD05 pro but I didn't previously have a good amp and I'm going to spend well over 1000 euros in total to customize it's sound, and I don't think that the internal DAC-only part is better than the alternatives I mentioned; the story changes if you want a system that allows you to transport your sound outside the home, in which case it might make sense to also invest in an Xduoo XD05 pro, if your budget allows it.
