I have spent the past week looking this forum pretty intently at some possible choices for headphones after getting to borrow some ATH-M50Xs for an extended period of time (about a week at work). It made me realized how crappy my Skullcandy ear buds where to listen to and how much more awesome my day was with better quality sound. I have a set of Monoprice 8923s as well (which I bought mostly to fiddle with).
I'd like something that is not quite as bass heavy as the ATH-M50Xs which I enjoyed for hip-hop but I listen to a number of other less bass heavy genres then hip-hop. I also found them to be a little fatiguing to wear all day. I largely listen to music from Spotify on a MSI GT60R laptop.
I am looking to buy some closed headphones and got down to these three choices, Creative Aurvana Live!, NVX XPT100 and Sony MDR-V6.
Which would you suggest? Or should I go with something different? MDR-V6 is at the top of what I am willing to spend right now.
