A person only has to hear the k10 to know why it has won awards, no further explanation needed.

Agree wholeheartedly.
Could somebody please give me a set of K10* so that I can understand all the awards?

well andromeda is 1100$
vega is 1300$
katana is 1850$

is it is not a fair comparison , price-wise at least since katana costs 70%/40% more than andromeda/vega (or 750$/550$ in real money) so they are aimed at different budgets/buyers

also curious how katana would compare next to the also reference beast Hidition NT6 (nic should compare nt6pro and katana in his 16 totl ciem shootout, very curious about his findings , as he has heard tons of totl ciems so his opinion has a bit more objectivity....)

Well, considering the IEMs in question were touted as flagships for each respective brand, I would have thought they'd make for a decent comparison. At the summit of the IEM world, are we still categorising contenders at various price points? (e.g. a $1,200 IEM is objectively inferior to a $2,000 product from a competing brand)

In any case, at the TOTL level, a lot of decisions are also made from a purely subjective standpoint.

I think price point should always be considered. You can compare them, but it is not a fair comparison. If they were designed to compete at the same level, they would be priced accordingly. That's not to say that higher price always means better performance. But a cheaper product can be expected to be outperformed by a more expensive product while still being exceptional for it's price point.

en·core
ˈänkôr/
noun
  • 1
a repeated or additional performance of an item at the end of a concert, as called for by an audience.

exclamation
  • 1
called out by an audience at the end of a concert to request an additional performance.

verb
  • 1
give or call for a repeated or additional performance of (an item) at the end of a concert.

The additional performance is better IMHO!  I love my K-10s, the encore is just more of some of what is great in the K-10s.  No doubt there will be detailed reviews soon.  If you want to know now what makes the Encores great, just read the K-10 reviews.

Here's the first HF review http://www.head-fi.org/products/noble-audio-kaiser-encore/reviews/17533
I have not listened to the Katana so  cannot comment about them.

Yes, and No, as it also depends on what makes the product in question expensive. The Prestige is a fine example of that.

His last paycheck from Noble bounced.

That type of activity, can/would result in the banning of Noble from Head-Fi, and I certainly wouldn't risk my membership and more importantly my reputation for such an endeavor.

The last I heard from Wata, is that he was feeling a bit ill, fever etc., and he posted that information on head fi.  Where ever he is, he is certainly welcomed to post here, as he does often times, add good information and is bit jovial as well.

My gifs just don't hold a candle to his contribution:

Watta's like a team mascot you see at baseball games running/dancing around cheering on the game. And Noble owners are the cheerleaders. :D
