Following the Type II models for the Kuro, Yamagishi-san seems to be on the move again, announcing the Kaede Type II. It will be available for audition at the autumn Fujiya Avic Headphone Festival. Release date is late November 2014 and a few pre-release units will be available for purchase at Ocharaku's table at said festival and at another event to be held at the Kyoto Central Post Office. The only difference I can see is the different coating on the phase correction tube and the subtle tapering of a section of the plug from the base, presumably for better grip when unplugging. Like the original model, the Type II will also be limited production.

As before, Fujiya Avic and e-earphone are taking pre-orders.

Word from e-earphone is that their initial batch of as few as six units expected for late November is all spoken for. I expect units for a late December batch are all reserved as well at this point.

I've been monitoring Fujiya Avic's pre-order page and its status has gone from "taking pre-orders for initial late November batch" to "taking pre-orders for second late December batch" to, at present, "due to low production numbers, stocking schedule is undetermined". Number of units available through Fujiya Avic is unknown.

Hopefully those wanting to pre-order got their reservations in!

Anyone got their Kaede Type 2 yet?

I am not sure if mine has any driver problem or it takes really a long time to burn in.

My original kaede is a step up of Type 2 ATM.

Interested in youth impressions and whether we think the type 2 will be released in batches like the original Kaede.

Burned in around 200 hours. Sounds very similar, need more listening time.
But the weird thing is that there is buzzing sound with the Kaede 2 with Calyx M. Original Kaede has no buzzing sound.
Can be solved with the M jack.

Have you got the M jack and verified that the Kaede 2 is ok with it. I would also like to eventually pick up a Kaede for my M also.

Any idea on whether the Kaede 2 will be released in batches line the original?
