The EA Axiom is our first fully in-house developed IEM. It features a large 12mm magnesium dynamic driver and twin Knowles balanced armature drivers, for a hybrid 2-way design.

The upcoming Axiom XP will feature a 12mm pure beryllium dynamic driver.

The Axiom has a modular design which not only allows the user to change the connector to allow for MMCX or 2-pin cables, but several (upcoming) modules to finetune the sound.

The matte black shell is made from aluminium and titanium alloys and is finished with a Hetian jade faceplate.

Axiom Price: USD $1,499
Axiom XP Price: USD $2,388

Review coming soon...

In short, if you love bass, these have awesome mid-bass punch and overall a fun, articulate character. Haven't received the cable bundle yet so keen to try each option out for the full review.

Well first off THE AXIOM is pretty good; But I wanted a few accessories for its price especially a case !!! 😏

Thanks to @suman134 for lending me the unit for a few days; for a small review opportunity !!!

IMPRESSIONS WITH STOCK MODULE- ( WITH EA CLEOPATRA)
  • Its a wide sounding iem with great layering
  • Tonally pretty good on the natural side or slightly thick
  • Good punchy mid-bass
  • Good sub-bass too
  • OH, the details !! you gonna like it 😁
  • beautiful treble with wonderful sparkle

THE SILVER MODULE-Adds good difference in sound signature

  • Slightly on the leaner side with EA Cleopatra cable but with Rhapsodio RSD hybrid its pretty good!!!
  • Lusher vocals
  • Wider V shape to the soundstage!
  • More space in between the instruments
  • Smoother treble experience 😉

I posted my review about the Axiom today:

It's a very engaging IEM with the black module, but I find it a bit overpowering in bass and aggressive in the treble. The silver unit to me sounds much better and when you find the right set of tips, it's a very enjoyable experience. As far as hybrid IEMs go, the Axiom sounds up to this level and I think it sounds very good with the Maestro cable.

I wonder how many more modules EA will release in the foreseeable future. And I'm also waiting for the Axiom XP, which is significantly pricier but let's see how it performs when EA release it.

I liked the concept overall. It makes sense but maybe EA can offer more discounts and attractive deals for this one. Anyways, enjoy the read and have a good one!

axiom is so versatile with the changeable module. It has very dynamic bass that will rock your day and very good details in the music.

Received the unit yesterday and the moment i put em on, the bass is wow, at the same time it doesn't over power other frequency and remain dynamic.
Will give it more listen sometime this week.

Tried several source and even an Apple's Lightning Dongle, also good sounding!

Hi guys,

We’d love to get your input on the following. As I previously mentioned on the EA thread, we’re looking into developing new upcoming modules to tweak the sound.

So, we’d love to hear what you find important. For those that have heard the Axiom, which area would you like to adjust if you were in control?

For those that haven’t heard Axiom, please feel free to share what you generally find important considering Axiom’s tuning. I’d briefly summarize it as having somewhat of a ‘fun’ tuning with an impactful bass and a neutralish tone with slightly laidback upper mids and a smooth treble. Impressions have varied of course, but just as a starting point.

Please share any thoughts, we’re listening!

-Nic

Got my review unit 2 days ago...love the sound out of the box, but I had to switch the MMCX module off and put the 2 pin on, and I had a very difficult time getting the module off...took about 20 minutes of fidling with it and eventually had to take a jewlers screwdriver to pry them off. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

Would like to see a module with more intense high frequency resolution and clarity to balance out the lovely bass!

Yes I had the same problem. The first time is tricky, you have to put your nail in on exactly the right spot at the bottom, then it comes loose.

The concept of the modular system is novel so I may be way off the mark. However, these are my thoughts, as I understood it, the options do include drivers, as that section is not interchangeable, so a planar magnetic driver is not an option.

It is rather odd that I couch my questions in the negative, not my usual approach but I imagine, I am trying to visualise how it would work instead of asking, so put simply is a planar magnetic driver (as a module) an option?

Is it possible to have an open back Axiom?

I must say, I made an attempt to swap the MMCX for two-pin but decided I did not want to destroy the earphones, so I chickened out.
