I have an HE-560 and an HD600 with a broken driver. I want to keep my HD600 as a companion to the HE-560, but I can choose to get either a single new HD600 driver ($70.90 each) or two new HD650 drivers ($50.23 each). It would cost about $30 more to get HD650 drivers over the single HD600 driver, so price isn't a big deal here.
My question is what you guys think about the pairing of the two headphones. Generally, I had been using the HD600 when I wanted a warmer, more laid back sound. It also has less of a treble spike than the HE-560. From what I can tell, the HD650 would be basically an exaggerated HD600 from that viewpoint: more laid back, less treble (and more bass, which doesn't quite fit the same pattern).
I haven't spent any time outside of conventions listening to the HD650, so I can't say much from my own experience.
Anyway, for those with experience with all three headphones, what do you think? I don't have any explicit 'ideal sound', but rather I'd like to know opinions on how you guys would pair the involved phones.
Thanks!
