So I'm working on a pass through to convert from banana plug to RCA, and it's been a long time since I've done any wiring. Anyway, my brain isn't working, as it's 6 in the morning, and I was wondering if there was any problem with using an aluminum enclosure. I know that aluminum is conductive, so in my head, it won't work, but I swear I've used it before. I've got connections that are threaded/have retaining nuts on either side. So, can I just drill the 1/4" hole and screw them down, or do I have to separate the connector from contacting the aluminum entirely?
Thank you for your help.

Let me amend that to say that it should introduce interference, rather than "not work"
