PayPal. Gift?

Hmm. I keep seeing sellers and buyers alike saying that sending money through PayPal as a "gift" doesn't incur PayPal fees.

However, every time I try to send money as a "gift", I still get hit by a fee.

What?

There's another side "benefit" to paying as a gift that's not too fun if things go bad for the buyer.

This thread reminds me - I've got to unlink my checking account from my paypal account.
