Philips A5-PRO "Armin Van Buuren Collaboration" (Owners and impressions)

The Philips is more neutral than the HD650 and rivals the HD600. The background is pitch black on the Philips and it uses a dynamic driver that's top notch in pretty much all aspects. I use my rarely but just can't bring myself to sell it because of the brilliant driver.

I sold my HD650 though

Depends but mostly 80mm are included if they are leather.

k so the only ones that are included on the a5pro is the 80mm?

read on amazon, that even the a3 had probably 90mm instead of 93mm

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-PCU93-Professional-Headphones-Cushions-Black/dp/B00N2PQ4VO?th=1

does anyone know where they have the a3 90mm and 93mm in stock, in europe?

have they stopped giving support on earpads from philips, as there doesnt seem to be so many stock ear pads out there?

A3 does not use the same cushions as the A5, they are not interchangeable.

A3 have one type of cuhsion, only 90mm.

All A5 come with 93mm cushion, not 80mm. For A5 can also get 80mm and 110mm cushion sold separately.

And it does seem like Philips has stopped supporting these models, they were probably not profitable enough.

@T.R.A.N.C.E. do you still use them as your main, for trance?

Yep. I use the A5Pro with 110mm cushions with Pono Player. Perfect pairing. The 110mm cushions reduce the bass quantity but increase it's quality and increase sound stage. The sound becomes a bit too bright though, which is where the Pono comes in, this dap smooths out highs and has excellent bass. The combination of all three is perfection. I've got a spare A5proi and spare 110mm cushions for sale if anyone wants.

Hi I'm new to this forum. I just got A5pro. This is my first high level headphones. I'm using sound blaster z sound card.

First of all I am really impressed with the sound stage it is great and well detailed. First time hearing this much detail had a great impact. I knew these are not bass heads before buying. But the bass I'm hearing is less then I was expecting

My question is if there is an amp can boost bass a little? Since I'm new to this stuff I dont want to make a mistake and want to buy a compatible amp for these cans.

And for the last, build quality is awesome!

If you have a sound blaster z sound card, it will drive headphones up to 600 ohms. Do you have the software installed? There are settings for eq, try playing with those.

Are the adapters with the different sized ear pads different in size, or are they the same adapter just with different earpads? Just went ahead and purchased the A5 Pro on Amazon thinking it may be a little difficult but not impossible to get the PCU110 ear cushions for it. Well it's absolutely impossible to find them anywhere after half a day searching the internet. I will absolutely need the bigger pads...will mod if i have to. Absolutely sucks that one of the main intents/design feature was for personalization/modification to fit the user, yet there is no support for this whatsoever from Philips... they really want to go out of the headphone business it seems. Really frustrating...
