Recently I got a pair of Tenda smart plugs SP9's.
They have energy consumption monitoring, which could eye-openers!
In these days of high electricity prices, specially in Europe, I thought I check a few items.
This is my initial discoveries:
- My PC server uses 140W, doing nothing!
- 65" Panasonic TV burns 150W.
- playing a 1080P video using Kodi , madVR upscaling to 4K with a gaming nVidia graphics card adds as much as 120W!
While playing a native 4K video needing no upscaling adds 60W of usage.
- AV receiver at low volumes is 30W.
- Meridian 556 power amp on standby uses 17W, working on moderate volumes is 35W.
- Topping DX7 pro uses 7W, while a Chord Hugo2 uses 2.5W.
- a UK kettle is 2.1kW.
- A 5W LED bulb is actually 5W on the nose.
Has anybody else had any experiences?
