If you wanted to hear the difference that occurs when using a high-impedance headphone, you can easily and cheaply modify your current headphone by adding a resistor to your cord (or an extension cord, so you can A/B the results). I'm new at this DIY stuff, so bear with the kid who did get to honors physics, but tha's about it...

Sounds pretty simple, neh? Impress your friends (and enemies

"I modded my headphones by buying headphone pads, a $40 /$20 amp, and everything else people were saying to do. Do you know any place I can send my headphones to get liberators attached?"
"That's cool. I made my headphones sound smoother and cleaner like high-end phones by raising the impedance. I could have bought a chord for $50, but I made my own for a quarter in 10 minutes."
"I hate you."
"You know I could show you how too..."
"I LOVE you man!"
