- good at everything, likes power and $$$$$ source gear but doesn't need it, scales well with higher tier equipment, highly impressive sound when paired correctly

2. ZMF Auteur Classic
- also good at everything, just in a different way, doesn't need as much power, probably the best all-rounder I have ever heard, loves tubes!!!

3. ZMF Atrium Closed
- soul & passion kings + ommppfffy bass that isn't distorted, darker ZMF tuning

4. ZMF Verite Open
- detail & speed kings + the soundstage!!!!

5. HiFiMan Susvara
- same as above, but with less emotion

6. Meze Elite
- good at everything, just not as crazy clear as 1/2, very fast

7. Focal Utopia
- detail hounds, slam hounds, but need emotion

8. Rosson RAD0
- like the weird kid in class that everyone wanted to be cool with + they sound/look neato - better than you would think

9. Beyerdynamic 1990 Pro
- great for mastering or analyzing audio tracks, excellent work headphone


Currently own them all.

Yeah, it's pretty heavy plus the clamp force is fairly tight. They do sound great though.

Probably the hd650. It's good, but a bit overrated imo. Or any of the older DCA stuff with the exception of ether closed. Those are decent.

Nope. I’ve tried the puck suspension strap and that only really works if you have a really small head.

I’m not interested in correcting a manufacturer’s mistakes. This has been the biggest complaint of Rosson’s products since launch which was over five years ago. If Alex can’t get his headphones fixed in half a decade I’m not interested in supporting that company.

It’s the easiest thing to correct and there’s absolutely no excuse to justify that.

Totally agree. Obviously manufacturers are entitled to do things the way they want and I appreciate innovation but there are known ranges of head sizes and for a company to release a product that fits badly is hard to fathom. I won't list all of the ones I've run into but the Abyss Diana is the one I've been dealing with recently. It's a excellent sounding headphone that makes me hate it every time I put it on because all of the weight and pressure goes to one very small spot.

And don't get me started on ear pads. The quickest way to ruin a headphone experience is for the driver to touch the ear but some manufacturers use shallow pads that do just that without offering any alternate size or mechanism to add a little space. Maddening! /rant

I have never spent more than £500 on a headphone (yet) but my baby list as it stands right now....
1/ Hifiman Edition XS (seems nice balance, big sound, just overall sounds a definite step above everything else I use)
2/ Meze99 (when they don't boom in me ears)
3/ HD600 (old faithful)
4/ DT880 (sometimes these blow me away, other times not so much)
5/ AKG361 (preferred it to 371 dunno why)

If I could combine the top 3 into one headphone I think I'd be really happy.
